New Maiden Album in Spring 2006 !

Posted by The Saint on June 18, 2004 @ 13:09

As announced by Maidenfans.com, Nicko is currently performing a small clinic tour in Italy.

In the pre-show, after being served a special « Menu of the Beast », one of the local promoters, a professional baker, offered Nicko with two big cakes, one with his own picture on the top and the other, smaller, was vagina-shaped ...evidently so, good old Nicko was immortalized on tape lickin’ the cake !

At the sport palace, an attendance of over 700 (!), most of it comprised of young kids, were expecting the drummer.

Nicko started with playing a drum solo, then answered a little Q&A in which he confirmed that Maiden would play festivals all over Europe next year and are then scheduled to enter in studio in November 2005 for a new studio album to be released in Spring 2006.

He then played a 95 minutes set with local band Anthenora. The setlist was the following :

Wildest dreams Wrathchild 22, Acacia avenue Blood brothers Heaven can wait Brave new world New frontier Losfer words Trooper Fear of the dark Hallowed be thy name Running free The number of the beast Run to the Hills

Many many thanks to Matteo of the official BB !

Please note that the June 20 Nicko Clinic Rimini date has been cancelled

Consider that these are guys no longer in their prime. And consider that they're not in the rush to get money like they were for the first 5 albums. Also consider that they'll need time apart after making an album, touring three times. 2.5 years between albums - no problems there!

thing is Real World...... Rock in Rio is the most Mainstream Live Maiden Album excluding Live after Death. Maiden England is pretty good in my opinion. I have yet to get Beast over Hammersmith

Up The Irons - I want some more epics on this new album!

Rock in Rio captures them at their very best!
Bruce has never sung so well for years- it's perfect!

Well, to be honest, I don't know if we're 'better' with news, but we don't have to cope with any of the record label management, the confidentiality agreements, the embargo information necessities, etc.

We just report everything about Maiden ! And for this, yes, I think we're the best !

Are we gonna get into another Live Album discussion? I think Bruce was piss-poor on LAD. And RL/DO was bollocked. Haven't heard Hammersmith yet, but I like more songs on RiR than on either Donington (Running Free? Fuck me.) and Hammersmith.

While I wouldn't go that far, I'll agree there are some songs *cough* Aces High *cough* where he does sound awful. However, the rest of the band is in prime form on that record, and they more than make up for Bruce's lapses.

They were pretty much in prime form on RiR, too, with Bruce kicking serious ass. But it's all in what draws you, SMX. Personally, I listen to the words first. You, as a musician, might not.
