New Maiden Figure, Lunch Box & Calendar Announced

on August 28, 2004 @ 17:38

New merchandising Maiden items have just been announced:

On one hand, a new Iron Maiden Lunchbox is scheduled for October, featuring the 1983 'Piece Of Mind' artwork. Here is how AtomicBooks describes it: "This colorful full-size tin lunchbox includes a thermal drink container, and features famous Iron Maiden artwork from Derek Riggs."

"One side of the lunchbox offers the album cover artwork from Piece of Mind. The flip side shows art that was used to promote the hit song from Piece of Mind, 'The Trooper!'" Recommended price is 19.99 USD.

On the other hand, a new "Eddie 18-inch action figure and room alarm", using its 1986 'Somewhere In Time' stance will arrive in December.

"From the classic Iron Maiden album Somewhere in Time, it's Eddie the Beast dressed up in his futuristic cyborg outfit 18" tall and comes with motion-activated lights and movement" describes WestfieldComics. "His robot eye glows red, and he raises his gun in his right hand whenever you get too close. Scheduled to ship in December. Recommended price is 38.99 USD.

Finally, the official 2005 Iron Maiden Calendar is expected for October 3rd, according to Sanity, an Australian website which offers free shipping for our friends downunder if they pre-order it.

I'd like to pick one of the figures up... Hopefully they do a while line of Eddies. That'd sure be an awesome collection to display. Pricey, though.

And, just for the sake of it, some comments on Blabbermouth:

Gotta keep up with KISS in the merch department!

Looks Like Steve Harris has been talking to the king of bullshit collectables --Gene "I rape the KI$$ fans for all they're worth" Simmons--

Iron Maiden... flame thrower! Kids love it.

Fucking priceless!

But the best, by far, is the following:

Maiden diaper's we were promised and those pajamas with eddies face all over them. Also I expect those coloring books by christmas plus the fluffy maiden slippers that glow in the dark. Damn, damn damn these guys are just too slow with the merchandise and my pre school kindergarden class is so very dissapointed. Anyway up the Irons! lol.gif

don't think that release date is the correct one, it shows a dance of death calendar for the year 2005 ?! ohmy.gif, but then again my pic posts the number of the beast calendar smile.gif

but that came of the site where I bought my 2004 calendar which was also the official, they don't sell unofficial stuff there so I don't really know what to believe now...

All the merchandise sounds great, specially the 2005 calendar, though it's unofficial.
There's a lot of stuff (CDs, DVDs, etc.) that are not official, but are really good.
I surely would buy it if it comes to my country.
Someone in the first replies (I don't know how, 'cause the last 10 posts bar is too short) asked if there are other figures like this Somewhere In Time Eddie, well I'm almost sure a time ago I read in the official BB that there's a Piece Of Mind figure available, but don't count on this, if you're interested in this stuff, search google/ebay or any other site you know.
