Pictures of Blaze and Di'Anno Duet
Photos of former Iron Maiden vocalists Paul Di'Anno and Blaze Bayley singing a duet on the Maiden classic "Running Free" as part of Di'Anno's appearance at the Rock The Nations Open Air Festival this past weekend have been posted at this location [Paul Di'Anno official website].The three-day event, which took place July 2-4 at the Maslak venue in Istanbul, Turkey, featured performances by both Paul Di'Anno's new solo band (dubbed Screaming Monkey) and Bayley's B L A Z E project.
This was the first time ever that the two former Maiden singers have performed together.

No wait, I didn't. 
Even though Di'anno hasn't looked like his younger self in a long time, I'm still shocked every time I see a photo of him. In my mind, I always picure him the way he looked in the Rainbow video. I had a hard enough time getting used to seeing Bruce with short hair - ain't no way I can make the adjustment for Di'anno.

What the hell happened to Paul?
I admit that I've never before seen a pic of Paul after his Maiden years, so I'm kinda shocked.
Blaze also looks 'strange'.
Looking remeniscent of a Mr Fred Durst dare I say it?

i am from turkey and of course i was at the gig.
however things are not just like they seem everytime.
my friends and i went to meet paul dianno at the airport. we couldn't chat much at the airport, then we went to his hotel (where also udo, doro and later blaze stayed). we did the photo, signing stuff and all.
however, anytime paul saw an iron maiden album, an iron maiden member's picture, he said "oh another spice girls album", and he also said "was a punk, still a punk" for steve harris. we knew paul's attitude on iron maiden, and we thought he was only joking. we did a lot of stuff. (including making paul write "bush is a motherfucker" on one dollar).
anyway, the next day, after meeting blaze and going to his hotel, we hit to the festival area and headed to front in the crowd for blaze. they were literally incredibly fantastic! i can easily tell you that you missed a historic performance. after blaze destruction came up and we backed off to rest.
and then paul and his band came up to the stage.
i was completely optimistic about his performance however he forgot the lyrics of wrathchild, he made brutal vokal on several songs, and he standed still during the solo parts... these were in the performance quality part. but.... he made a bunch of things that made the fans depressed and enraged. he announced the maiden songs as "here is a song from spice girls", he said "oo a spice girls t-shirt" for a t-shirt that was thrown on the stage. he said "spice girls fan club haha" for iron maiden turkey fan club's web site advertisement paper. my friends and i couldn't stand these insulting sentences of him and we left the concert area. i was really depressed; because as a man who played a key role in iron maiden history, paul dianno, was insulting iron maiden, insulting steve harris and another point is that his playlist's %80 were "spice girls'" songs.
then he said "i wanna fuck the spice girls". i really can't find any word neither in turkish nor english to say about this. how dare he can say "i want to fuck iron maiden" and play iron maiden songs?
if paul dianno can still rise up at a stage and gather a bunch of people to watch, it is only because iron maiden. so this concert also showed us how honorable paul dianno is.
i can't still believe that blaze sang with him but i know it is because the duet had been planned before.
so, if i were you, i wouldn't be very frustrated for not seeing this concert. but you can be as frustrated as you can for missing blaze's, udo's, doro's performances.

the first few pictures are circle II circle's, then come doro's pics (which prove that the metal goddess is still alive and well), and then blaze's and paul's. since we left the place before blaze joined paul, there are no pics of them together.

I have to say that I am in no way surprised about Di'Anno's attitude. He's lunatic, going from one mood to another, one day bitching about Maiden and the other complimenting them.
He's a sorry guy that has no career, that's all. If he doesn't like Maiden, he can just stop cashing in by performing/recording the same tunes over and over again.
How was the meeting with Blaze ? Did he sign stuff and all ? Was he a nice person ?
