I'd like to think that if all europe would be like Scandinavia, Maiden would have their biggest time at the moment.

Somehow the last two albums were very much in the taste of tose Scandinavic, or is it the big Death Metal scene that lifts Maiden up?

Who knows, but it is great!! lol.gif

It was me who wrote the news. smile.gif
It says that the first show was sold out in less than 30 mins. I didn't add the informaion about selling out the 2nd gig yet...
I wonder why IronMaiden.com didn't announce this date yet... It's already sold out before it's confirmed on the official website...

i cant understand that fact too. maiden is selling stadiums in less than 1 day!
im proud of being a fan of such a megagroup and proud of scandinavia. i know theres a huge black/death metal scene but i had no slightest idea that all the black/death people are so mad for Maiden!
i like black very much mostly the 80s black. i think Quorthons death is a serious loss to the music! (im from slovakia and thats the home of sweet countess elizabeth bathory)

and...
sorry for the polish maidenites! see you in paris! (i got 2 tickets)

Bathory was actually born in Hungary and spent some time in Transylvania. Nothing to do with Czechoslovakia. sleep.gif

And there was certainly nothing sweet about her!

Black metal isn't really that big in Norway. Our biggest bands sell a lot more abroad than in Norway. So even though Norwegian black/death metal bands are well known, they're not very popular here. Unforetunatley, most Norwegians listen to rap and other crap (hey!, that rimes biggrin.gif) theese days

And besides: Swedish and Finnish metal owns the Norwegian. (HammerFall, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica etc..)

ironmaiden.com has actually confirmed this, in the news section eith the headline "16/11/2004 Iron Maiden release Number Of The Beast Single" in the text it stands:

The news of the single release follows the spectacular reaction to the announcement of live shows for next Summer. In Scandinavia 88,000 tickets sold within hours, with 51,000 sold out in 2 1/2 hrs for Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium, 22,000 sold out in a day for Helsinki's Hartwall Arena (2 shows) and 15,000 tickets first day for Oslo Spectrum (also 2 shows). Also recently on sale is the show at Paris Parc Des Princes Stadium on 25th June. To satisfy insatiable Maiden fans, an official UK travel agent has been appointed to arrange official Maiden parties to the Paris show, with privileged access made available to the members of the fan club. i live in slovakia. (former czechoslovakia which was part od Austria-Hungary Empire) Alžbeta Báthoryčka (Elizabeth Bathory, also called "Bloody lady of Cachtice") was born in Nyírbátore (Hungary nowadays) but lived in her domain in Čachtice (Cachtice near town Nove Mesto nad Vahom which belong to Trencin district) where she committed bloodbaths and was condemned and finally died here
