Steve Wray Explains Leaving B L A Z E

on September 21, 2004 @ 18:10

Earlier today (September 21st), Steve Wray, the former 3 L A Z E guitarist, made a post on the Planetblaze.com forums explaining more closely why he left 3 L A Z E.

The full post reads as follows:

"Hi everyone, I would just like to say a big THANKYOU to all of you who have supported us over the last 4 years. It has been truly an amazing ride.

My decision to leave Blaze has not been one taken lightly and it is with a "heavy heart" in some respects that I leave (thanks Neil), there are many reasons for my departure too many and varied to post here but ultimately I decided that it's time to move on and try something else.

I would like to make it abundantly clear that I have not given up on music and I am if anything more revitalised and ready to rock then I have felt for at least two years.

I would like to thank Neil for his statement re my leaving the band but would also like to make clear that the reason I am no longer in Blaze is not because I am "unable to do" the forthcoming dates which is implied in the statement. The simple truth is that at this point in time I choose to no longer be involved with Blaze and therefore I am not not doing the dates.

I will be happy to answer any questions on this thread.

Love and respect as always.

Steve. "

To know more about this story, follow this link to the exclusive interview that Maidenfans.com's sister network Blazefans.com was able to secure before his leave. Some interesting excerpts:

The most recent line-up was a solid touring line-up but unfortunately it's never been as good since the original line-up split. This isn't intended to upset anyone by the way, I'm just being honest. It's only my opinion, after all.

(...)

I would like Blaze to continue but not in the way it has been.

Is it me or all these interviews posted in the last week show that members weren't particulary enjoying Blaze's company.

I mean, they talk about each other, how they enjoyed being with that one or that other one, but NO ONE mentions Blaze...

I'm jumping to conclusions maybe, but this seems strange.

Cheers

It's really sad to see how the band has split, but it seems that working with Blaze wasn't a joy at all.

Blazefans.com is interviewing the manger shortly and we should get the other side of the story. Expect it to be as brutally honest as previous interviews
