2005 Set to Last for 130 Minutes ?

on January 7, 2005 @ 11:09

As we already know, the 2005 Italian date will be held on 11th June 2005 in Bologna as part of the Gods of Metal Festival.

The promoter stated, by e-mail, that before even annoucing the complete bill of the festival, they already have set the lenght of each band's set:

The headliner will play for 130 minutes, the second group on the bill for 90 minutes, the third for 75 minutes, the fourth for 60 minutes, the fifth for 50 minutes, the sixth for 50 minutes and the last group on the bill will play for 35 minutes.

They added:

"Yeah, we can confirm that Iron Maiden will perform for 130 minutes at the festival, they specifically asked us to reserve this set lenght. We guess they have some surprises. We don't know anything about setlist yet. Cheers"

One of which might be a longer setlist than your tiny mind can comprehend.

That doesnt really say much, it could very well be Maiden wants to have 130 minutes just in case of possible mis-haps or something.

However, seeing this is a very short tour, perhaps they´ll indeed play a longer set than usual, as it won´t be as straining as it would be on a longer tour.

I totally agree with you!
The setlist of DOD Tour was too short!

The organizers of the Gods of Metal festival have released the schedule for this year's event, which will take place June 11-12 at Arena Parco Nord in Bologna, Italy. It is as follows:

Saturday, June 11 (doors: 10:00 a.m.):

IRON MAIDEN 21.30-23.40
SLAYER 19.20-20.50
LACUNA COIL 17.35-18.45
OBITUARY 16.00-17.05
TBA 14.45-15.35
TBA 13.30-14.20
DRAGONFORCE 12.30-13.05
EXTREMA 11.30-12.00

21.30 to 23.40 makes 130 minutes indeed !

I'm waiting for other festival promoters to confirm the same before adding it as news, for it could be for one festival only.
