Death on the Road DVD Postponed
What was suspected by Maidenfans with a flurry of rumors seems now official. The 'Death on the Road' DVD is postponed to a later date.
What Records, Maiden's online record store partner, have confirmed that the DVD release has been postponed to 19 September due to technical problems. The DVD is still rumoured to comprise three discs. An official confirmation has however not been posted.
The double CD and LP will be released on 29 August as previously announced.
It is yet unknown if the DVD will have a worldwide release or if some territories might have a further delay.
Update (August 19): What Records informs its customers that the DVD will be released on September 19. It is unknown if it is the new worldwide date or if it's UK only.
Update (August 29): EMI Poland has informed Polish_Eddie that the temptative release date is now October 24.

When you exit the videos for the Trooper single it says Death on the Road CD out August 29th, DVD coming soon.

thought so, the magazine I always order from had removed the dvd from its catalogue...
so guess I'll only buy the double cd (with wristband !! ) + maybe trooper single

To be honest, I don't really care about this DVD. It just seems like another lazy attempt by a band desperate for it's loyal fans to depart with their money. How many live albums and best of compilations have been released when all we really crave is a new studio album? I know I will be shot down in flames for this so I am ready for an assault.
Actually, I tend to agree with you there, Conor. I don't know if it's simply about money or if this is the result of Steve's attempt to document everything, but I'm seriously getting fed up with these unnecessary releases.
I can only say, I'm interested in this release, I will get it, but I'm more anxiously awaiting the next studio album. Maiden can release anything they want, as long as there is enough new and original material among it.

I would love to have a live release from all Maiden tours, so I don't see any problem in this release.

I do agree with you and I think that many fans do. I don't care if the group releases tons of live material provided there's a fair amount of new songs. Actually we face a serious lack of fresh material...
