Maiden Not Back in Italy until 2007-2008 ?

on January 3, 2005 @ 17:30

The italian Promoter "Live", booker of Iron Maiden for their forthcoming gig at "Gods of Metal" in Italy on June 11, sent the following bit on Maiden in their last newsletter:

Capitolo GODS OF METAL: come noto IRON MAIDEN saranno headliner di sabato 11 Giugno.

It translates to:
Regarding GODS OF METAL: as previously announced Iron Maiden will be headliner on Saturday 11st June. They will bring their full show and this is going to be their only italian date. This Gods of Metal appearance will be the only chance you'll get to see maiden live, at least in a short time. Other apparitions of Iron Maiden live are not due at least till 2007 or, more probably, 2008.

It seems this is just a way of trying to make more fans go to Gods of Metal since many people don't want to go for the high ticket prices and bad organisation. The same newsletter claims, for instance, that Megadeth will never play Italy again...

Could you copy/paste that email in here (you can remove your personal info) or PM it to me ?

With it, I could make it a news headline.

Cheers

It's a mail sent because i'm member of Live Mailing list. It presents 2005 events and here i copy and translate the Maiden related part:

This is the text.

As i said i think this is just to make people buy their tickets since many people in italy are still indecise whether going or not due to ticket prices and bad organisation. smile.gif
In fact, for other groups like motley crue and Megadeth the promoter says that they won't be back ever, trying to create a "once in a lifetime oppurtunity to see these bands" .
I personally don't believe that, i think is just trying to attire people. biggrin.gif

Thanks !

I've added it to the Rumors, for it really seems the promoters just want to sell tickets and don't seem to have anymore information.

Cheers
