Maiden to Make Surprise Appearance at Download ?
Rumor debunked by Maidenfans. Funeral For a Friend was the secret band
Apparently, the Download organizers have sent out a message sayin that they booked a secret band for one of their three nights.
Not even the spokesperson of Download knows which band it will be.
As a reminder, Metallica stormed the second stage on one afternoon in 2003, which was a total surprise. They were headlining Reading on the same year.
So, of course, the rumors are all pointing to Iron Maiden who have no date set on the Friday June 10 (they're in Italy on June 11 and in Switzerland on June 12).

The Organizers of the "Rock am Ring" festival in Germany ( www.rockamring.de ) booked a secret Band, too :-)

i think what metallica did was typically a 'tallica stunt, something that doesn't fit with Maiden. But it was cool that metallica did that !!!
