MP3 of the Week - Out of the Silent Planet

Posted by Real World on September 1, 2005 @ 11:37

We have just uploaded our first MP3 of the week* to the download centre. This week the track is Out of the Silent Planet (live). This is a bootleg recording from Shepherds Bush, UK shortly after the release of the Out of the Silent Planet single. It was widely speculated that the band were not overly happy with this choice of single since the song hadn't been played at all live until that point. The quality of the Mp3 isn't great but its worth a listen if you've not heard it live before. You can download the track here. Also, please let us know whether you would prefer MP3's or streaming Real Audio files. Real Audio files are much smaller but MP3s are more common.

* we say week but this is just a rough estimate. Depends how popular this track proves, whether Sanctuary kick our arse and how our server holds up to the strain of hundreds of you downloading an 8Mb file.

Was it recorded at Shepherds Bush Empire NOT at Hammersmith ??!!!

It is indeed Shepherds Bush. Bruce says so at the end of the track. My mistake

Oh, this is a beutiful idea!!! Perhaps you could put a live version of Strange World up next time, or some X-factor stuff? that would be fantastic!

Keep up the amazing work you are doing here!

OK its been incredibly popular and its used half our months bandwidth so rather than push our luck I'm changing this to MP3 of the month. Next month will be, as requested, Strange World sung by Paul DiAnno
