New Iron Maiden Hits Album ?

on April 26, 2005 @ 16:44

According to IronFist from the IMBB, a new hits (?) album is coming soon, here's what he said in the original post:

I work at a CD store, and every month we get these magazines/info things about new albums from particular labels.

I was browsing through the newest EMI magazine, and it had a half page thing about Bruce's TOS. But while I was reading it, I noticed this: (this is a direct quote, I wrote it down 100%)

"With Iron Maiden featured on this summer's Ozzfest and a new Maiden hits CD on the way, the timing is perfect for the release of a new Bruce Dickinson solo album".

This is 100% accurate, straight from EMI themselves!!

This could of course be the DOD cd, that Maidenfans has rumoured for months. But it could also be another Greatest Hits/Best Of compilation. Or it could just be fake, and the guy's pulling a prank

Hope it's not another bloody hits album, the last one was wrong and it sucked.

i read somewhere on that topic that it was called "then and now"

Hmmm....Theres always been rumors they were going to redo the first record the right way. Nicko talked about that on the "listen with Nicko" series way back in 1990. If they redo some of the old stuff with the current line up Im ok with that, just not another f`ing greatest hits .....please!

7th_Son, you probably have the BNW tour rehearsal track from US radio. They broadcasted live studio versions of Wicker Man, The Trooper and Wrathchild I think.

Well, the "Then and now" album listed at MTV.com is just an ASIA CD!!!!

BTW, that studio version of 'The trooper' that is floating in MP3 format is from the "Brave new world" tour rehearsals...

A friend... right! biggrin.gif

It's NOT a studio recording mate, it's a live soundboard recording done either at a venue without the crowd or a radio studio, not sure...
Anyway, the quality is great. And it IS from the BNW era as it was aired on radio back then - probably on Total Rock, can't remember.

EDIT: and next time, I will read ALL replies before answering... but that "a friend" just made me hit the reply button right away - as if noone would know my name on here... or maybe noone does, and I'm just far too self confident. unsure.gif

I have the whole radio show. It's Interviews and some songs, and it's Wicker man, the trooper and Wrathchild they play.

BTW, It's on this show they play the extremely cool version of The wickerman, with some extra vocals on the chorus. "Your time will come, I will return" and stuff like that!
