Paul Di'Anno Interview with RockSomething.com

Posted by HeavyPen on September 11, 2005 @ 23:02

Rocksomething.com have interviewed Paul DiAnno ahead of his upcoming tour of Russia. In it, he continues to increase his popularity in the Maiden world with comments like *"I honestly think [Bruce] sounds like a fucking fairy when he is trying to fill my shoes on the songs from the first two albums". *True or not you have to admire the mans honesty to say what he's thinking. You can read the interview here.

just to add my thoughts on the interview, i think paul should lay off a little talking shit about how bruce sings his songs. bruce has accomplished so much more in his solo career than paul ever will...hes jealous IMO.

Actual Pual comments;
"Bruce is a better singer for Maiden as they became in their later years"
"Bruce's high operatic and theatrical type voice is better suited to Maiden's later material"
"he sounds like a f***ing fairy when he is trying to fill my shoes on songs from the first 2 albums"
"Bruce's voice is sang in The Queen's English. very politely and with all the letters pronounced properly"
"you can imagine him practising his sword fencing whilst practising his vocal exercises"
"He sound like a very nice public school boy who used to sing in the local church choir after school and was an instant hit with all the old grannies"

and one last comment about Blaze;
"RockSomething: …did you ever listen to the Blaze era Maiden?
Paul: I try to not listen to shit. "

To be fair I dont think Blaze would have too much good to say about Paul DiAnno either I just hope he has the decency not to publically make the point

All of a sudden?
He's made some good music but he never stops complaining.

Di'Anno only rants like a woman every time he has a tour or when he has to promote a new product. He was asked about Blaze era and states "I dont listen to shit" but had no Problem singing with the guy a few months back

Yes Paul is a good vocalist but maiden only got this far because they got rid of him, and opted for a stronger vocalist

If he didnt say such outrageous things he wouldn't get half the publicity he does. The press love the stereotypical rock and roll lifestyle stuff

Does anybody here think that he just keeps riding on the fact that he sung with Maiden again and again? It's a bit of a cash in, in some sort. I remember in another interview he was talking about how much he would like to castrate Dennis Stratton and saying that he was a 'frilly clothes wearing pop-wanker who talked about everything like he was top priority'. I wouldn't trust these words but we all know what he's like...

So that's why they sang Running Free once together.

Well, what can you expect from Paul? He's never exactly been known for being consistent in opinions given in interviews and careful about what he says, has he?

SO he's trying to get people to notice him when he's doing nothing?
