Site Upgrade Progress Report
OK so the "we're under construction" message has been on the front page for a while now so I guess I should probably do some kind of progress update...Well to be honest theres not much to report! Sadly I have spent the last 6-7 months trapped in a perpetual crunch period at work so when I get home, the time I would usually spend doing Maidenfans is now spent sleeping!
Regardless of that, I have had the time to knock up an idea or three for a new layout which we will use on the website when everything starts to slow down at work again. I'm not prepared to publically show the design yet as it needs some work but I can tell you it will be based around the Somewhere in Time era. The layout of all the information on the site should be much cleaner and easier to find - for example, the discography section would have links to related wallpaper, tourdates and reviews etc.
We'll also introduce some new features and ideas including a new and improved news page which again will provide easy links to related stories. A new tourdates page will feature more in depth information about venues including contact details and addresses where available. "Your Perfect Gig" will make a return and will be fully interactive so you can instantly see the length of your gig based upon your selections as well as providing leaderboards for peoples favourite live songs based on their choices. This is just some of the ideas I have and I won't say anymore or I'll ruin all the surprises!
Please have patience with our continuing "rough around the edges" look and we'll get back to looking our best within the next few months.

Just read through all that again. Am I REALLY going to do all that? I must be bloody mad. Thats three brand new scripts and a new layout. I'm such a geek :s
