As expected, Iron Maiden did cut their shortlist for Ozzfest, as they're only second on the headlining list. Here is their full set:

Wrathchild
The Trooper
Revelations
Phantom of the Opera
Run to the Hills
The Number of the Beast
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Iron Maiden

Encore:
Running Free
Sanctuary

Bruce has kept his rants about Phantom of the Opera being the essential Iron Maiden song and still promises a new album for next year.

On 'Number of the Beast' the goat head spotted in many european concerts also appears, as the walking Eddie on 'Iron Maiden'.

The stage set ressembles the one used in Europe, although some say it's a little smaller.

As for the off-Ozzfest dates in Quebec and Toronto, the full setlist will be played played.

Ozzfest has become a symbol of heavy metal's unity. Many people arrive early to catch the new blood of the festival, then stay late to see the dinosaurs -- and they love them both. The band that stole the show yesterday was Iron Maiden, a British relic which filled the slot of last year's Judas Priest. Like Priest, Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson said his group would just play old songs at Ozzfest, then tour behind a new record next year.

Dickinson was a remarkably well-preserved showman who defied his age by racing across the stage and climbing stairs to ramps at either side, from which he exhorted the crowd into a horn-saluting frenzy with such songs as ''Wraithchild" and ''Run to the Hills," aided by a triple-guitar attack and inflatable beast with neon blue eyes, and changing rear curtains that made their set feel like a Broadway play.

It is still unclear if this short setlist will be kept for the two off-Ozzfest date in North America.

According to the Quebec topic on the official Maiden forum, people who went to the concert said it was the same setlist as in Europe.

Sorry guys, but a LOT of backdrops were missing last night in Quebec City. No fire / fireworks as well.

The big Eddie behing the drum kit was the Eddie of the first album BUT as soon as it went up, the air got lost somewhere and Eddie was removed pretty quickly.

Complete setlist, Bruce's mic had some problems, we could'nt hear him or barely hear him on many occasions. Incredible crowd as always. It was my 15th Maiden show.

That's a shame, probably the same problem in europe and that's why they changed it... wink.gif

It was awesome. My wife and I travelled by train from Ottawa to see the show. We were 6th row center. We were not disappointed.

The band looked like they were truley having fun and getting off on the sheer energy oif the crowd. Everyone was standing up. The entire stadium striaght up to the rafters was on thier feet and howling.

I noticed they don't use wireless hookups on their equipment. Other Than Bruce who uses a wirless mike. They did get tangled up sometimes but didn't seem to mind. I find the gaffs add an element of hard reality to the show. They just brush it off as spinal tappish moments I'm sure.

Bruce spoke en Francais to the crowd and the volume of the crowd increased when he flew the tatterd Union Jack.

I hope the band honestly got off on the crowd. They sure seemed to. All of them. When Bruce screamed "Scream for me Quebec city!!!" We screamed.

They never used wireless hookups on the guitars and bass... The only one that performs wireless is Bruce and he would actually prefer to have a mic with a wire, because the sound is way better, but it is impossible for him since he is running around so much. But all the others prefer the wires because it improves the sound a lot. Thank god they do!

Yesterday... I went to Ozzfest in Hartford CT. Maiden definently put on the best show. I was shocked about how many people were singing along with the songs. Most of the people were your typical Ozzfest crowd. I could really tell the difference between them and the Maiden fans. It started pouring rain 2 times during the show. So all these dumb@$$s started pulling the grass out and chucking mud missles EVERYWHERE... It sucked. When Maiden started playing, everyone stopped moshing (i don't know how to spell it), and gave their direct attention to the stage. I've never seen Maiden at a festival before. I think it was an excellent move for Maiden to play at Ozzfest, because all these kids who where their for their grudgey, thrash stuff, loved them! Sabbath was great, but like usual Immoi was kind of putting on a one man band. Ozzy just doesn't have it anymore. But I thought it was great that Ozzy was giving his all, like usual. I think the best shows were

1. Iron Maiden
2. Black Sabbath
3. Rob Zombie
4. Black Label Society
5. Arch Enemy (that chick really knows how to rock!)

Wrong. Steve uses wireless almost all the time. Janick has one guitar with wireless wich he uses in "Iron Maiden" for example. Dave also has some wireless ones that he uses when he wants to go to the other side of the stage and the one he trashes in "Iron Maiden", and sometimes Adrian also uses wireless to be able to move around the stage. But most of the time they don't use wireless because it's a better sound in cables.

It's no wonder why Bruce and the guys get pissed at America and the attitudes towards the band.....
