Shows what I said in other threads: Maiden DVD do sell very good and that's why we ought to see more than just that History series (DOD, for instance).

I'd add that 100'000 of Early Days compared with the sales of DOD in the US is quite amazing. Dates will be scheduled.

Cheers

Iron Maiden will always have fans in the US because there are still people who are die hard Maiden fans. There are still some of us who enjoy and respect their music. Iron Maiden have always had a following here.
Iron Maiden do not have radio airplay at least in Los Angeles where I live and still play in arenas in front of 10,000 fans or so. There are other groups that receive more airplay and play at the same arenas, so in my opinion Maiden play to the same amount if people with relatively no airplay.
Iron Maiden are just a band that has influenced many people. Up the Irons forever!!

On the contrary. I'm not surprised that this sold very well - it is from the days when Maiden was popular in the States. A high-end businessman can explain to his friends "Yeah, I was in that stuff when I was a teen, just kinda looking at the history", whereas purchasing newer albums may be called into question. And as the entire American culture revolves around popular consensus and peer pressure...

(Yes, I am very cynical.)
(Yes, I do live in Canada, which has most of the same pressures.)
(Yes, I do buck the major trends, but I subscribe to some of the underground ones.)

I was born in the United States and I don't fall into that stereotype of purchasing many things. I consider myself modest and I buy things because they are needed and not for show. Too bad many people do not see this and of course would support something that is not great such as most of the music that is out today.

Weird how a Maiden album can´t sell 500, 000 in America, yet a DVD can sell 100, 000.

Shows that Maiden has a solid fanbase of 100000 in the US. The rest is icing on the cake.
