Bruce reveals his favourite Queen song
The October issue of 'Classic Rock' magazine features a rundown of the top 50 Queen tracks as chosen by the magazine's editors and some of the biggest names of rock music. The list includes such illustrious and diverse names as Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Rob Halford (Judas Priest), David Bowie, Geoff Tate (Queensryche) and Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden).Bruce's selection is 'Who Wants To Live Forever' from Queen's album 'A Kind Of Magic' of 1986. Says Bruce about the song: "I love 'Who Wants To Live Forever' simply because of the beautiful vocal melody, the way it continues to lift and lift as the song progresses. The first time I heard this song, it made me cry."
Bruce Dickinson seems to be a big Queen fan, as he has covered 'Bohemian Rhapsody' together with Catalan opera singer Montserrat Caballe, and appeared live on stage with the SAS band performing 'I Want To Break Free'.
