Perry Farrel on the Rock Show Tonight
Iron Maiden front-man Bruce’s special guest on Saturday 2ND June is Perry Farrell. You can listen to Bruce’s weekly BBC 6 Music rock show live via the internet between 9:00pm to Midnight UK Time (between 3:00pm and 6:00pm EST) (plus online or on DAB) http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/bruce_dickinson.Generally acknowledged as one of the pioneers or “godfathers” of alternative rock, Perry is doubtlessly best known as the charismatic front man of Jane’s Addiction. The band is regarded as one of the first of the burgeoning alternative rock movement to gain mainstream media attention and commercial success in the US.
Born in New York Farrell’s early musical influences included David Bowie and Lou Reed and he made his name in the mid-80’s, performing high shows in small LA rock clubs. Following the break-up of Jane’s Addiction, Farrell’s gone on to form a number of other musical projects including Satellite Party, who played with the Doors for their 40th Anniversary concert in 2005. Their début release ‘Ultra Payloaded’ has just been released, so Perry pops in to give us a sample of his new material.
Don’t forget the show is available all week via the Radio Player / Listen Again feature on the 6Music webpage, so no matter what you're doing Saturday you'll still be able to hear Perry rockin' on with the Bruce for a whole 7 days! Check it out! http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/bruce_dickinson.
